I started in the real estate field as a data entry clerk for a New York State broker specializing in REO’s. I worked for five years, entering and learning the valuation process of residential properties.
I subsequently decided to go to school for Medical billing and coding. Fifteen months later, I realized this was not for me.
I then started doing some minor work with my father-in-law working on a Real Estate application. After a few months, he asked me to get more involved. Developing this program became my primary focus for the next three years.
During the development process, I acquired my Real estate license to understand the practical side of Real Estate brokerage. Now, actively selling and renting properties for about the same time as working on this application helped me in both areas, developing and identifying the tasks that technology can address.
I have no formal training in software development, but I am a quick study. Becoming a Real estate agent helped me offer sound suggestions to the developers for the Tennessee market. In addition, working on this application from its inception and clients in the present market gave me a unique perspective on the client’s needs and market valuation.
